Therapy can be beneficial for anyone who is experiencing emotional distress, struggling with personal challenges, or seeking personal growth and self-discovery. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by stress, dealing with anxiety or depression, navigating relationship difficulties, or simply wanting to improve your overall well-being, therapy can provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for exploration and healing.

Our standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. However, if your treatment involves EMDR some sessions may be longer to allow for comprehensive processing of traumatic memories. We will discuss in advance if longer sessions are required.
-
The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs, goals and progress. Some people find relief and reach their goals in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support to address deeply rooted issues or work through complex challenges. We are committed to providing personalised care tailored to your unique circumstances and goals. Together, we will regularly review your progress and discuss your ongoing needs to determine the most appropriate duration for your therapy journey. Ultimately, the length of therapy is a collaborative decision between you and your therapist, with the goal of supporting your mental health and wellbeing in the most effective and efficient way possible.

Starting therapy can be a big step, it’s normal to feel a bit anxious, unsure or awkward in the first session. My first priority is to make you feel as safe and comfortable as possible. The first session is all about getting to know each other. We might chat about your history, your family and relationships, your current situation and day-to-day life. We’ll also discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get out of it.
There will also be a chance for you to ask any questions you have and get a feel for how therapy works. Before we get started we’ll discuss confidentiality and consent, and assess whether online therapy is appropriate for your needs.

The standard consultation fee for a 50-minute appointment is $200. You may be eligible for rebates through Medicare or your private health insurance. Head to our Fees page to learn more.
To make therapy more accessible, our fees are intentionally set lower than the recommended fee of $311 set by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2024-2025.

To access Medicare rebated psychology sessions, start by scheduling an appointment with your GP. Let them know you would like to discuss your mental health as you may need a longer appointment. Your GP can create a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and provide a referral. Provide a copy of your MHTP prior to your first appointment, each session can then be claimed for Medicare rebates up to a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year. You will need to pay the session fee upfront, but the Medicare rebate will be processed automatically and deposited into your bank account.
Your GP will periodically review your progress and we will work together to support your mental health journey. A maximum of 6 sessions can be provided in an initial course of treatment, you will then need to return to your GP to access further sessions up to the maximum 10 sessions per calendar year.

The cost of therapy includes the time spent in sessions, as well as preparation time to personalise your treatment, administrative tasks involved in your care, and ongoing training and professional development to provide you with the highest quality care.
While therapy may seem expensive it’s important to consider the long-term benefits to your mental health and well-being. Investing in therapy can lead to significant improvements in your quality of life, relationships, and ability to cope with challenges.

Yes, research has shown that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many individuals. Online therapy offers convenience, flexibility, and accessibility, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home. While some may prefer the face-to-face interaction of in-person therapy, many people find that online therapy offers comparable results and can be particularly beneficial for those with busy schedules, mobility issues, or living in remote areas. Ultimately, the effectiveness of therapy depends on the therapeutic relationship, the skills of the therapist, and your commitment to the process, regardless of whether it's conducted online or in person.

To ensure you get the most out of your sessions, it's essential to actively engage in the process. Start by being open and honest with your therapist about your thoughts, feelings, and goals. Setting clear objectives for what you want to achieve can also help guide your sessions and measure progress. Consistently attending sessions and reflecting on insights gained between appointments can deepen your self-awareness and build momentum. Additionally, completing any recommended tasks outside of sessions can reinforce learning and facilitate positive change. Don't hesitate to communicate any feedback or concerns with your therapist to ensure the therapy experience meets your needs effectively. Lastly, remember to be patient and compassionate with yourself as progress takes time
